The weather may have been a little chilly, but that did not dampen any spirits and everything went smooth as butter. We started off the day with their first look on the docks of the marina next to the venue, and my was it just breathtaking! The skyline of Portland across the bay plus the boats in the marina lent to that most amazing nautical “Maine” feeling you really can’t get anywhere else.
This was such a fun and unique ceremony, and I just loved the vibe these two had with their flannel shirts and hiking shoes, and even more so their sense of adventure! The night before, they had been camping up in Acadia National Park, folioing a long road/camping trip to Maine. Even though they are from out of state, I feel like they encapsulated the Maine spirit 100% with their true appreciation of the outdoors and the natural beauty of our surroundings, and their spirit of adventure.
The light was glowy and soft, there were gorgeous lake and mountain views, and just about everything you could hope for, was Top it all off with a spectacular sunset against the mountains and lake, and it was perfection.
Tyler and I had planned his surprise proposal to Savannah at Kettle Cove together and I couldn’t wait for the big day! When it finally came, the sky was nice and blue. Then, on my drive there as I got deeper into Cape Elizabeth, there suddenly was a thick wall of fog! It was the craziest thing ever! We’re talking super thick-as-pea-soup fog. It was nice and warm though, so it really was quite enjoyable and fun!
Diana looked amazing, Bayard was happy because he hooked a fish before the ceremony (he is an avid fisherman), and Maddie, their precious pup happily played the role of flower girl. You know I love a fuzzy flower girl or ring bearer!! What more could you want for a Maine camp wedding?? Their day was truly “them” and had all of the elements that showed their personalities, it was just wonderful.
It was the perfect summer day for Alyssa & Derek’s wedding at The View Point Hotel in York, Maine. It was everything you would imagine a coastal Maine wedding to be, including a seaside ceremony with direct views of the Nubble Lighthouse.
It's not every Friday evening that I get to spend waterside at one of Maine's amazing lakes, but when I do, I take it in as much as possible! I had a wonderful time with Diana and Bayard this evening along with their sweet, sweet pup Maddie (and Diana's wonderful mom, too!). These two absolutely love to fish and wanted to have that theme incorporated into their session.
After a lot of logistics and planning since he hadn't been to Maine previously, Mike chose the perfect spot for the big moment, and for photos afterward. I was delighted to meet both of them in person and capture this super special moment in their lives. We had a blast as we went from jetty to beach to grassy ocean views all during our shoot and I just admired the love and joy these two have for each other. It amazes me sometimes how such a great amount of adventure can be packed into such a small time frame like finding a heart-shaped rock for them on the beach where he proposed, and a rainbow appearing right afterward, friendly visits with onlookers, a giant yacht, a tesla appearance - this trip seemed to have it all!
I had a blast with Marjorie and Amanda the other day as we were running around and exploring Harbor View Park in Portland, Maine. This location has significant meaning to them as this was the spot where they first met, and where they got engaged. So this was the natural choice for their engagement photos! They rocked it during the session and I am just loving how the shots are turning out. I had a blast with these two, and can't wait to photograph their wedding celebreation in October!
A little off and on rain couldn’t keep sprits down and the day was filled with s’mores, corn hole, frisbee, kilts and a Scottish ceilidh! Super fun! I’m telling you if I didn’t have to take photos of it I would have joined in in a heart beat!
I was honored to capture Kati & Nick's fabulous wedding at Mechanic's Hall in downtown Portland, Maine. The day was filled with fun, laughter and love, just like these two wonderful people. They are surrounded by such loving, giving and caring friends and family it's no wonder the day just radiated it all around.
I have gotten to know Ellie and Collin over the last couple of years, since we did their wintry engagement session in Freeport in 2016. We all couldn't believe the big day was finally upon us, and it was just as magical as I had pictured in my mind for it to be. Beautiful venue, beautiful decor, beautiful dresses and food....just incredible. It felt like walking into a fairy tale!
What better way to start the day and weekend than hanging out with super fun people and taking their pictures? My weekend is definitely off to a great start having kicked it off with Jill and Alex in South Portland for their Engagement Session! They love to spend time sailing during the summer (and Alex participates in racing), so it was important to them to have some nautical elements incorporated into their session.
Chuck and Theresa were married at the York Golf & Tennis Club in York, Maine yesterday, and I was honored to be there to capture their amazing celebration. The wedding was elegant and clean with lovely, fresh local flowers, with hues of blush, whites and greens, and it came together so beautifully.
Do you recognize these beautiful people? Yes! They are the same Joe & Toni whose proposal I captured last September at the Cliff House in Ogunquit, Maine! I am thrilled to be the photographer for their wedding in 2019, and today we completed their engagement session. I will tell you it is always a good time with these two, even when it feels hot and muggy and everything is sticky.
The pair had an intimate elopement ceremony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with their two adorable little ones as their bridal party. Everyone was happy and sharply dressed as they pulled into the park in their limo, and spirits were high.
What an incredible night! I was worried that it was going to be really hot for Tyler & Rachel's surprise marriage proposal photos last night at Bug Light park in South Portland, Maine, but the temperature cooled with a lovely summer breeze, and set the perfect stage for their big moment.
Lavonne chose a beautiful, flowy floral print gown for her wedding that she brought along for the shoot, and it was just perfection! The weather behaved even with some cloud cover, and gave a soft and clean setting for the photos. There were horses, wild flowers, beaches, and lobster traps, you name it for our settings.
I was honored to capture these marriage proposal photos for Tim and Liz just a short drive from Portland, Maine on Saturday at the stunning overlook at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth. I had so much fun planning with Tim, and finding the perfect location that made his "heart skip a beat" when he saw the photos
I had so much fun with Erica & Nate today during their engagement session! The drizzle couldn't keep us down from the start, and it even lightened up for us so we could get some more fun shots around Ft. Williams in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
